Comfortable people often stay comfortable in one place. Uncomfortable people find ways to change their life. Being uncomfortable, frustrated or bored is not always a bad sign. Most moms operate on autopilot. Many women often don’t find suitable circumstances, support or motivation to do something for themselves. Many want to do more in life but don’t know how o begin. If you feel this way then you pat your back. Getting lost is not a bad sign it shows you are exploring. Switching careers or getting back to work after a sabbatical is not easy. Find something that you enjoy. You can revive your passion for writing, drawing, making a craft or even studying. Do not mistake basing your decision on how much money you can earn. Do what you love and the money will follow.

How to Channel your Frustration and find your passion

1. Ask why?- Write down the reasons behind your frustration.

2. Do you feel stuck?- Break the routine. Life can get mundane.

3. Take a stock of your resources- Family support, options to hire help and financial support.

4. List your strengths- What do you enjoy doing? What sparks joy?

5. Don’t let money drive your decision. Let money be a consequence of your passion.

6. Make a plan- invest time, effort and required resources to back your passion

7. Get started and remember it is okay to fail.

Motherhood is consuming. You can get lost. Your life can become about your home, kids and others. It is okay to want more. It is not selfish to think about yourself also. It is never too late to ask yourself “ What do I want to become in life ?”.

I want to become a famous cartoonist. I want to see my cartoons in print someday and publish a book. I am enjoying my current state of the frustration about how to get there. I am not lost, I am exploring 🙂
